Marjorie Jackson's money came from her husband Chester Jackson who owned Standard Grocery store chain that he then sold in 1931. Upon his death in 1970, Marjorie inherited $14 million that she kept in the Indiana National Bank until an employee swindled $700,000 from her. She then withdrew all her money and kept it in their long time home in Indianapolis. All manor of authority figures warned Marjorie about the risk she put herself.
